Bright Deal Movers – Terms of Service
Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of moving and relocation services provided by Bright Deal Movers (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before scheduling or using any of our services.
Services Offered
Bright Deal Movers provides residential and commercial moving services, including but not limited to:
- Local and long-distance moving
- Packing and unpacking services
- Loading and unloading
- Transportation of household and business items
- Temporary storage solutions
Booking and Estimates
Estimates
All estimates provided by Bright Deal Movers are based on the information you provide. Final charges may vary based on actual services performed, including labor time, materials used, and any additional services requested.
Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or signing of a service agreement. The specific amount of the deposit will be outlined in your estimate.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
- Cancellations made 7 or more business days before your scheduled move date will receive a full refund of your deposit.
- Cancellations made 3-6 business days before your scheduled move date will receive a 50% refund of your deposit.
- Cancellations made fewer than 3 business days before your scheduled move date will not receive a refund of your deposit.
- Rescheduling requests are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.
Payment Terms
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept payments via credit card, debit card, electronic bank transfer, and certified checks and money orders.
Payment Schedule
- A deposit is required to secure your moving date.
- The remaining balance is due upon completion of services, unless otherwise specified in your service agreement.
- For long-distance moves, payment in full may be required before unloading.
Additional Charges
Additional charges may apply for:
- Stairs or elevator usage beyond what was specified in the estimate
- Long carrying distances from parking to residence
- Handling of specialty items requiring special equipment or techniques
- Packing materials provided on the day of service
- Delays caused by factors outside our control
- Additional stops not included in the original estimate
Customer Responsibilities
Preparation
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information for estimates
- Ensuring all items to be moved are properly packed (unless packing services are purchased)
- Disconnecting all appliances and electronics before our arrival
- Removing items from drawers and furniture
- Ensuring clear access to your property for our moving vehicles
Prohibited Items
You agree not to include in your shipment:
- Hazardous materials (including flammables, explosives, chemicals)
- Perishable items
- Plants
- Pets
- Illegal substances
- Valuable items (cash, jewelry, important documents)
- Body parts, cremated remains
Valuable Items
We recommend you transport high-value items personally. If you choose to include high-value items in your shipment, you must declare them in writing before the move.
Liability and Insurance
Standard Coverage
Our standard liability coverage is limited to $0.60 per pound per article, as is across the moving industry.
Additional Insurance
We offer additional valuation coverage options at an extra cost. These options must be selected and paid for before your move date.
Claims Process
- Any claims for loss or damage must be filed in writing within 7 days of delivery.
- Claims should include a detailed description of the item, its condition, and estimated value.
- Photographic evidence is strongly encouraged.
Limitations of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Items packed by customers (unless external damage to the box is visible)
- Mechanical or electrical malfunctions of appliances or electronics
- Normal wear and tear
- Pre-existing damage
- Acts of God or events beyond our reasonable control
- Indirect or consequential damages
Service Execution
Time Estimates
While we strive to adhere to scheduled times, moving times are estimates and not guarantees. Various factors including traffic, weather, and move complexity may affect actual service times.
Service Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse service if:
- Conditions present safety hazards to our crew
- The move involves illegal items
- The customer is verbally or physically abusive to staff
- The actual items to be moved differ substantially from what was disclosed during estimation
Dispute Resolution
Communication
We encourage customers to communicate any concerns directly with their move coordinator or our customer service team as soon as they arise.
Mediation
If a dispute cannot be resolved through direct communication, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing legal action.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of BRITISH COLUMBIA/CANADA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website or direct notification to customers with active service agreements.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
